severe punishment under the section.
-
- It is not designed to enable a player to obtain experience points,
possessions, or anything similar.
- It is not designed to do any actions, including the help of others,
without the player being in direct and active control of the
character.
- It is not designed to keep a character connected to the MUD for
the purpose of gaining age, social points, or the like.
- There are no exceptions to this rule.
- Punishment for breaking an Article V rule is handled on a case by
case basis.

the player is not in direct and active control of the character,
Minimum punishment is being disconnected from the game, while

and a maximum of character banishment.

characters. This is done upon character creation, please read the
prompt upon creating a new character for more information.
- The list of all player's characters will be maintained by those
of at least Demi-God status, and to maintain confidentiality
will not be accessible by others.
- Players may not at any time, for any reason, have two (2) characters
logged in simultaneously.
- Players may not use any character to assist another character
which they play.
- Assisting includes using one character to avenge the death
of another character or an insult against another character,
using the name and reputation of one character to solicit
the death of another character, placing a bounty with one
character on behalf of another, et Under normal
circumstances players should avoid having two or more
characters owned by them involved in hunting the same person
or group of people. Instances in which this MAY be deemed
acceptable include cases of guild wars declared by other
than, and not because of, the player's multis.
- Assisting also includes using one character to obtain and/or
provide items, including armour, weapons, potions and the like,
and/or money, to another character. Holding such items for a
person's multi character to facilitate this type of transfer
is specifically deemed a violation of this section and will
be punished accordingly.
Players are warned that this section of mortal_law is an extremely
sensitive area, and are strongly advised to err on the side of
caution with regard to it.
- Players are required to maintain separate identities with each
character. Maintaining separate identities includes such
things as remaining in character with the race, guild, and
org chosen by the player unless the player has taken care to
build a roleplaying persona as a renegade. Players who
consistently break such character to assist RL friends in
situations which would not normally include one of their
race, guild and/or org will be considered to have violated
this rule and will be punished as such.
- If a player refreshes a character, the character retains its social
points, age, guild/org status (as long as it joins the same guild/org)
and retains any grudges earned by it. If a player retires a character,
it loses ALL of that, including the grudges earned, and is considered
for all intents and purposes to be a new character. Acting on a
grudge against a new player who has the same name as a previously retired
player will be considered violation of this rule and will be punished
as such.
- Players may not sell, trade, or in any fashion come into
possesion of a character they did not advance from the beginning.
- Players may not have multiple characters unless they are registered,
whether they are currently connected to the MUD or not.
- Sites which have an excessive number of characters or a history of
abuse of the multi character privilege may be required to provide
verification from a system administrator or other verifiable
source regarding players.
- Players may not openly state the identities of multi characters owned
by themselves or by other players or immortals, nor may they punish,
kill, or otherwise mistreat other characters owned by a player
controlling a character with whom they have a problem. Having the same
email/real name/project/plan in the finger information of multiple
characters will be considered a violation of this section.
- There are no exceptions to Article VI rules.
- Punishment for breaking an Article VI rule will be as follows.
- First breakage will result in a minimum of a warning and a maximum
of suspension of all involved characters for a period not to exceed
one month.
- Second breakage will result in a minimum of suspension and a
maximum of removal of one (1) or all characters owned by that
player.
- Gross breakage, or multiple breakings will result in a minimum
of removal of one (1) or all characters owned by that player,
and a maximum of site banishment.
- Naming an immortal player character is considered gross breakage
and will result in the minimum loss of the character who named them.
-
- A player may ask for arbitration of a situation involving themself
and another player.
- Both players must agree to the arbitration.
- Players may have and use witnesses and logs of events as evidence
for the arbitration.
- Arbitation between organizations and/or guilds may be asked as a
resolution to a conflict if both Guild Masters or Organizational
leaders agree.
- Resolution may come in terms of possessions, a non-kill agreement,
or whichever the party agrees upon.
- The arbitrating immortal may make a judgement call in terms of
a resolution to the conflict.
- The arbitrating immortal has final say in the conflict or situation.
- In other words, since both parties have agreed to the arbitration,
they have given up their right to decide any outcome or resolution
to the dispute to the arbitrating immortal.
- The resolution of the arbitrating immortal cannot be overturned,
save by an immortal with God status, or a majority vote by all
of the administration.
-
- It is considered cheating for a player to use any means that
would give a character an unfair advantage over other
characters. This includes, but is not limited to the following.
- Knowingly abusing a bug.
- Accepting illegal help from an immortal.
- Utilization of one multi to obtain items, equipment, etc. for
another multi.
- Assisting another player in the commission of a violation under
this section (i.e., holding items for someone's multi).
- Bug abuse is also considered cheating. Bugs include, but are not
limited to the following.
- Objects that give large amounts of experience points, and/or
possessions of any kind with little or no risk. This includes
but is not limited to the following objects.
- Non-player characters.
- Other Player characters.
- Rooms.
- Non-equipable items contained within a room.
- Possessions.
- Using possessions that are not in play, no longer in play,
or were never intended for play.
- Using possessions that are overpowered, or are broken in such
a way as to give a character an unfair advantage.
- Players who report bugs may receive a reward, provided as follows.
- The bug reported is not an error such as room exits not functioning
properly or missing rooms.
- It has been confirmed as a fixable bug that has not been
previously reported.
- Compensation will be granted upon fixing of the bug.
- Compensation will be provided by those with permission to do so,
and will be given an adequate amount to compensate the bug.
- If multiple bugs that effect normal game play are found by the
same player character, it may be deemed that the player has
made an honest attempt to improve game conditions, and may
receive an award.
- Players are responsible for their actions no matter their
sobriety or degree of anger at the time.
- Ignorance is not an excuse in any situation. Players are required
to know the rules.
- There are no exceptions to this rule.
- Punishment for breaking an Article VII rule will be as follows.
- First breakage will result in a minimum of a warning, and a
maximum of character removal.
- Second breakage will result in a minimum of character removal,
and a maximum of character banishment.
- Gross breakage or multiple breakings of this rule will result
in a minimum immediate removal of that character, and a maximum
removal of all of the characters owned by a player and
consideration for site banishment.
-
- In certain cases, punishments may cross over articles. These cases
are where a player is deemed a a general nuisance, appropriate
actions can be taken to invoke harsher punishments when
rules are broken. An example as follows, but not limited to is.
- A player is caught using a script to obtain experience points and
stay connected with the MUD to prevent removal from the playing
environment by an immortal, and is abusing a bug.
- In this example, the player is breaking multiple rules, so a
harsher punishment may be handed at the descretion of the
appointed immortal.
- Please note, that is an extreme case. Most cases result in a
warning for a first offense, and most cases are handled by
each varying situation, as these rules are the precedents, but
can be modified based on situation.
